The Municipality of Abu Dhabi (ADM) has reminded companies running plants and vehicle workshops that they must begin relocating to Musaffah from 1 May.

Business were told last year that they had to relocate their their operations to qualify for a licence to operate, as Abu Dhabi intended to “provide a sound environment and uplift level of services offered”.

Those affected include all commercial activities such as the trading in building materials, carpentry workshops, hand carpenters, aluminum workshops, glass workshops, scrap workshops (aluminum, copper, steel and junk materials), equipment repair workshops and used furniture shops.

It also includes shops dealing in auto spare parts and accessories, motorbikes, jet skis, tyre shops and suppliers of car batteries, upholstery, electrical repairs, window tinting, and other vehicle-relataed. services and accessories.

“This course of action is taken in the context of the Municipality’s attention to safeguard the health and safety of the community, improve the modern profile of the capital as a pollution-free city, and avoid any losses or negative impacts resulting from the continued practicing of such activities within the metropolitan area,” ADM said in a statement.
