Korea’s Doosan recently launch a new super-large 70-ton excavator, the DX700LC. The giant machine is equipped with Isuzu’s 15L engine and produces 469PS HP which Doosan claims optimises fuel efficiency and performance.

“Unlike super-large machines that consume large amounts of fuel, the DX700LC is equipped with Isuzu’s large-capacity engine to dramatically improve fuel efficiency,” said the company.

“The DX700LC, which was researched and developed over a long period, boasts low RPM and a high workload performance, giving it excellent fuel efficiency compared with the competition.”

In terms of performance, the DX700LC has 35 tons of excavation power and 48 tons of traction power for those hard to reach places such as quarries or aggregate collection sites: “It has minimum ground clearance enabling access to rough or difficult workplaces, and a large 3.3㎥ bucket for performing huge workloads”.

Designed for use on rough terrain, to protect it from external shocks during operation, the cylinder is equipped with a lattice-type boom cylinder protective cover and a large bucket cylinder protective cover.

A protective guard has also been installed at the top of the cabin to protect the operator from falling objects. Furthermore, the excavator is equipped with a two-tip shoe designed to improve its driving power and escape power on rough terrain, and a full guide has been built into the excavator to protect its upper and lower body from ground shocks.
