Renault Trucks has introduced its K Xtrem model in the Middle East.

The Renault K Xtrem boasts a reinforced chassis, an automated and reinforced Optidriver Xtrem gearbox, and a total capacity of 29 tonnes to 32.7 tonnes.

The model features a cast-iron engine flywheel housing, C-shaped side member reinforcement, and is available with optional 24” wheels.

The heavy-duty vehicle has been designed to take on the Middle East’s toughest operating environments, according to Renault Trucks.

Gregoire Blaise, the manufacturer’s vice president for the Greater Middle East, said: “When developing the C and K ranges, we deployed significant resources to ensure these vehicles deliver maximum reliability and robustness.

“Each range underwent rigorous quality trials, and [the units] were exhaustively field tested under actual operating conditions.

“The K Xtrem version takes this one step further by offering our customers the most robust chassis in the market, specifically designed to meet extreme conditions such as those in the Middle East market.”

The regional launch of the K Xtrem took place at the Renault Trucks Xtrem Days event in Marrakech, Morocco.

The launch followed the introduction of Renault Trucks’ latest C and K ranges in 2016.

The vehicles have applications within a range of industry segments, from long-distance haulage to heavy construction.

Renault said that, due to its pulling power, manoeuvrability, and obstacle clearance, the K Xtrem is well suited for urban materials delivery, earthmoving applications, and concrete and fertiliser transportation.
