UAE-based Lootah Lemmens is preparing to deliver one of the biggest Electric Overhead Traveling (EOT) cranes ever assembled in the Middle East to Oman.

The 25m span crane features two beams and will be capable of 175 tonnes main lift (30 tonnes auxiliary), and will be installed in themanufacturing facility of Voltamp Transformer based in Sohar, Oman.

The two beams of the crane are undergoing final work at Lootah Lemmens purpose built facility in Umm Al Quwain before being disassembled for delivery this week, Ashish Goyal, general manager at Lootah Lemmens explained.

Lootah Lemmens was began as a joint venture between Dutch player Lemmens, and UAE conglomerate Lootah Group five years ago. It has gone on to command a healthy share of the overhead crane market in the GCC, Goyal explained to PMV, and supplied projects in the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan.

“We are very proud to be able to deliver a crane of this size to Sohar,” added Goyal. “We have raised the bar for cranes in the Middle East.”
