According to reports, the accident happened at 12.30pm on the Dubai Bypass Road near the Global Village development. The truck driver, a 35 year old man from Pakistan, was under his truck when another truck hit the parked vehicle. The impact forced the victims’s vehilcle to hit another truck parked ahead of it.
The police also alleged that four other individuals were moderately or severly injured in the accident.
“The parked truck was being fixed by the truck driver, he hadn’t used precautionary measures such as using hazard lights or the sign indicating the truck was down,” Captain Mohammad Ibrahim, Head of the Difficult Tasks Section in the Rescue Department at Dubai Police, told Gulf News. “Another speeding truck lost control and hit the parked truck, killing the driver who was under the truck instantly and injuring his partner who was inside the truck.”
