Al Habtoor Motors (AHM), the exclusive GCC distributor of Sumo Firenza, has appointed Mohammed Omer Kabli Trading (MOK) as the first dealer for Saudi Arabia.

“We foresee a great market for Sumo Firenza in KSA and with the efforts and experience of MOK Trading, we are sure the brand will gain impetus. In the long run customers will benefit from these superior automotive tyres from Singapore,” said Neil Coolledge, GM of AHM’s tyres division.

Al Habtoor Motors selected Sumo Firenza as its premium tyre brand of choice in earlier in 2013, after reviewing renowned tyre brands across the world on the basis of their quality, value and reliability.

Mohammed O. Kabli, CEO of MOK Trading, added: “We are proud to be launching Sumo Firenza for the first time in KSA. As the official dealer, we will be working carefully to establish the brand.”

Sumo Firenza offers a range of tyres covering passenger vehicles, SUV, light commercial and HGV applications, and continues to expand in both sizes and patterns as demanded by the global markets.

According to a statement: “During the past decade Sumo Firenza has steadily evolved into a brand synonymous with credibility and quality tyres that are constantly innovative within the industry.”

MOK’s flagship Universal Car Maintenance operation, meanwhile, began as a niche market provider of mechanical and electrical services for American cars, but today has five workshops and four parts outlets in Jeddah, and has expanded its operations to branches across Riyadh and Dammam.

The company is also a distributor of Monroe Shocks, and brands including Bendix brakes, CITGO, FRAM, Prestone, Autolite, Valeo and Airtex.

Al Habtoor Motors is meanwhile the exclusive distributor for Mitsubishi, Fuso, Chery, JAC, TEMSA, Bentley, Bugatti and McLaren in the UAE, and a part of the Al Habtoor Group business conglomerate.

Also attending the signing were: Jagdish Parulekar, CFO of AHM; Roma Andrews, executive director of AHM; John Jayachandran, also a manager for tyres at AHM; Larry Lee Vice, head of international distribution at Sumo Firenza and Robin Wong, regional distribution manager for Sumo Firenza.
