FAMCO is targeting Abu Dhabi’s road construction contractors with a day-long road machinery event.
As Volvo Construction Equipment’s authorised distributor for the Emirates, FAMCO will showcase a selection of the Swedish manufacturer’s pavers and rollers at the Armed Forces Officers Club (AFOC) in Abu Dhabi today.
In contrast to FAMCO’s 2014 road machinery event, which was held at Volvo Group’s parts distribution centre (PDC) in Dubai, the venue for this year’s open day has been specifically chosen to attract contractors active in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
“Last year, we invited a selection of our customers from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain to attend the road machinery event in Dubai, but not many of them were able to make the journey” explained Ahmad Halwani, general manager of FAMCO’s Construction Equipment Division.
“We therefore decided to hold a similar event in 2015 focused primarily on customers active in Abu Dhabi’s road construction sector,” he revealed.
Halwani and his colleagues expect to welcome in the region of 100 road construction professionals during the course of today’s event. In addition to receiving educational presentations concerning the road machinery offered by FAMCO, attendees will be able to get up close with an array of Volvo CE’s pavers and rollers.
In addition to machinery, FAMCO will use the event to showcase some of the soft products that it can offer to customers, ranging from acquisition options to aftersales support.
“When a contractor orders this type of machine, he is making a long-term investment,” said Halwani.
“We offer superior products, and we are committed to supporting them. With this in mind, we can offer a range of aftersales support packages to meet customers’ needs. We need to ensure that their machines continue to make money,” he added.
Halwani also pointed out that FAMCO is able to offer a selection of acquisition packages, including rental, lease-to-own, and flexible finance through FAMCO Financial Services. By emphasising these options at today’s road machinery event, the distributor is confident that it can build upon a resurgent local market.
“The road machinery market, for us, has been exceptionally good,” Halwani said.
“To be frank, we expect this continue for the rest of this year. That’s why we felt that somewhere around the first or second quarter of 2015, we should hold this event. We want to let our customers know that we are ready to support them with both products and aftersales service,” he concluded.
