With regulations for nitrous oxide (NOx) emissions becoming increasingly stringent, AdBlue will be required for all new diesel engines, including light and heavy duty trucks, off-road machinery for agriculture and industry, and even new passenger vehicles. Brenntag is the largest worldwide distributor of AdBlue, or diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), with a high-purity 32.5% aqueous urea solution, which is directly injected into exhaust gas where it reduces nitrous oxide emissions.

In the UAE, Brenntag supplies AdBlue thorough its subsidiary Trychem. Previously known as ENOC Chemicals, Trychem was established in 1998 as part of the Emirates National Oil Company. In 2013, UAE-based Tristar, an Agility Group company, acquired ENOC’s chemical distribution business and rebranded it to Trychem LLC. In 2015, Germany-based Brenntag entered into a joint cooperation with 51% ownership in Trychem and Tristar holding the remaining 41%.
Trychem offers a wide range of chemical products and value added services such as bulk and packed storage, filling services (bulk, IBC, drums, cans, bags), and mixing and blending solutions, as well as technical support and services for various industries within the life science, environmental and material science sectors. The company uses a bulk to bulk and bulk to break distribution model where all bulk cargo is stored at the company’s bulk storage facility with a combined capacity of 10,000m3. Packed chemical products both in drums and bags are stored in warehouses which comply with stringent HSE international standards and are ISO and SQAS certified.
