Doosan Infracore won the gold award for the design of its ‘Concept-X Excavator’, at the’iF Design Award 2021′, an international design competition in Germany .
The’Concept X Excavator’ is a futuristic unmanned construction equipment, characterized by a design without a cabin for the driver and the excavator caterpillar to be divided into four parts in order to maintain a stable posture even on uneven ground. Except for the excavator boom, which corresponds to the human arm, each driving part is motorized, and a circular indicator is mounted on the joint, so that the load can be easily recognized.
Concept-X is the world’s first unmanned automation integrated control solution for construction sites, introduced by Doosan Infracore in 2019, and automatically analyzes data after surveying the workplace through a drone, establishes a work plan, and then analyzes the data on construction equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders. It is possible to proceed unattended by transmitting
The iF Design Award is a competition organized by the German International Forum since 1953, and is counted as one of the world’s top three design awards along with the IDEA of the United States and the Red Dot Design Award of Germany.
