Case Construction Equipment and New Holland Construction are planning to showcase their full lines of equipment at Bauma Conexpo Africa 2015 exhibition in Johannesburg, set for 15-18 September.

In its second biennial iteration, Bauma Conexpo Africa will host 800 exhibitors across 80,0000m2 of exhibition space and anticipates 20,000 visitors – the majority of them from South Africa – with Case present in collaboration with local distributor CSE; New Holland in collaboration with MB Plant SA.

“The construction sector holds significant growth potential in the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa, where South Africa remains a key market,” said Andy Blandford, VP of CNH Industrial Construction Equipment (CNHI CE) for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

“But the entire African continent is extremely important for us. With 34 countries having participated in the first edition and the high expectations for this year’s show, we are sure that Bauma Conexpo Africa will serve as a prime opportunity for networking.”

Among Case’s products on show will be the 570T backhoe loader, designed and engineered to match the requirements of customers in the region, and built on a production history of 600,000 units dating back to the introduction of the world’s first factory-built tractor backhoe loader in 1957.

Sporting a turbocharged, four-cylinder FPT Industrial S8000 Series engine, the 570T comes equipped with an S-shaped boom and the option of an Extend-a-hoe dipper extension to facilitate digging depths of up to 5.58m.

Also on display will be the 821F wheel loader, the CX210B and CX290B crawler excavators and the 885B grader, and the Case 1107 DX vibratory soil compactor, with its turbocharged four-cylinder 105hp engine, twin vibration stages and operating weight between 11,300 and 12,300 kg.

New Holland is meanwhile bringing two entry-level 97hp B90B backhoe loaders to represent the company’s renowned range of backhoe loaders, and its 200 Series skid steer loaders, representing the latest link in a 40-year chain of production that has seen 200,000 skid steer loaders produced.

The company will also showcase a 23t E215C unit to represent its C Series of crawler excavators; a F200B motor grader to demonstrate the pushing power and precision of its construction graders; and a W190C wheel loader, which with just 3 passes the W190C can load a 19.2-tonnes payload truck.

Franco Invernizzi, Middle East and Africa (MEA) business director for CNHI CE, added: “With regional offices located in Johannesburg and Durban, a new office in Cape Town and a growing network of branches and dealers, MB Plant SA is able to provide comprehensive services and technical support to its highly diversified customer base throughout the country and Southern Africa.”

“In other African markets we provide the same level of support through strong importers – for example, Rex Quip in Namibia, Ivecar in Angola or Achelis in Kenya and Tanzania.”

The first Bauma Conexpo Africa occupied 60,000m2 of exhibition space, making it the biggest event in the sector in Africa, with 14,700 registered trade visitors from more than 110 countries – 84% of them from South Africa, 6.0% from other African countries and 10% from elsewhere, but particularly: Mozambique, Germany, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Italy, Namibia, United Kingdom and India.

Of the 754 exhibitors present, 123 from South Africa and 631 headquartered across 38 countries, with the top exhibitor countries including China, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Spain, the UK and US.
