Terex AWP Middle East, which distributes the Terex Group’s Genie aerial work platforms, has appointed Gary Cooke as the regional sales manager for the AWP business segment.
Cooke will report to Charbel Kordahi, who was recently promoted to position of managing director for Terex Material Handling and AWP for the Middle East and Southern Africa region.
Cooke’s principle role will be to support distributors and channel partners of Genie products in the Middle East, and establish new distributor relationships in territories within the region.
Prior to joining Terex, Cooke spent the last 20 years working in the Middle East, including 14 years with Lavendon Group’s Middle East business Rapid Access, where he was instrumental in the growth of Lavendon’s UAE business and its expansion into Abu Dhabi, KSA and Kuwait.
More recently, Gary helped develop a remote project supply, and as international business development manager was successful in supplying powered access into Egypt, Algeria, Turkmenistan and Iraq before setting up the Rapid Access depot in Basra.
Terex AWP has also recently launched the SX-150 boom lift and the Z-33/18 Z-boom lift in the Middle East – the former with a lift time from stowed to its full platform height of 46m in less than three minutes; the latter touted for its up-and-over clearance of 4.28m and stow-away height of just 1.5m.
