ABP Immingham, the United Kingdom’s largest port by tonnage, has taken delivery of a Sennebogen 875 mobile port material handler.
The machine, which was supplied by E H Hassell and Sons, was selected by ABP Immingham due to its simplicity and green credentials.
Commenting on the purchase, Steve Williams, general manager of ABP Immingham, said: “We were impressed by the total package of the Sennebogen machine, in particular the simplicity of the product from a service and operators point of view.
“We were also very interested in the green hybrid energy recovery system, which will save us fuel and therefore money over time,” he noted.
The Sennebogen 875 boasts a 27m reach, a 2m pylon, a 20-tonne hook-and-clamshell grab, a four-axle wide-gauge mobile undercarriage, and large outrigger pads. The machine also features an energy recovery system, special ‘sea climate paint’ and cylinder protection, a quick-release coupler with built-in rotator, and a timber spreader.
Speaking during the handler’s official handover, Ian Hassell, managing director of Sennebogen dealer E H Hassel & Sons, commented: “Our goal is always to give the customer the perfect solution for their specific requirement and application.
“We arranged for ABP’s service technicians to attend service training courses at the Sennebogen training academy in Straubing, [Germany] around a month prior to delivery. Also, once assembled on site at Immingham, we ensured product familiarisation took place with ABP training instructors,” he added.
ABP Immingham is the UK’s largest port by tonnage, handling 55-million tonnes annually.
