Gargash Enterprises has introduced the Mercedes-Benz Atego and Accelo medium-duty trucks to the UAE market.
The models were launched during the second-anniversary celebrations of the Gargash Enterprises Commercial Vehicles Service and Parts Centre in Fujairah, UAE.
Commenting on the facilities strategic importance to Mercedes-Benz users in the Northern Emirates, Thomas Rothe, commercial vehicles manager at Gargash Enterprises, said: “[This centre] is providing quality and reliable roadside services.
“The new service outlet strengthens our commitment to providing aftersales support to the rapidly growing customer base of Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles in the Norther Emirates region.
“It has proved to be a great investment, and we are more than delighted to be here today celebrating the success story so far, with a vision to accomplish far more in terms of customer satisfaction and loyalty,” he added.
Three Mercedes-Benz medium-duty truck variants were unveiled during the anniversary event: the Accelo 915 C, the Atego 1418, and the Atego 1725.
The smallest of the trio, the Mercedes-Benz Accelo 915 C, is equipped with a 150hp four-cylinder engine and boasts a payload of five tonnes. The Accelo’s cab is large enough to accommodate a driver and two passengers.
The Accelo’s bigger brother, the Atego 1418 offers a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 14 tonnes, a six-speed synchromesh gearbox with a two-speed rear axle, and is powered by a 177hp four-cylinder engine.
The largest of the three, the Atego 1725, sports a 245hp six-cylinder engine and offers a GVW of 17.1 tonnes.
Gargash noted that the three trucks complete its mid- to heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz range, and assured UAE customers that the models would offer “proven Mercedes-Benz quality and reliability”.
