Terex has revealed that those visiting Hillhead 2014 will get to witness one of its 70-tonne capacity TR70 rigid-framed haulers in action.

Attendees will also have the chance to see a demonstration of the Terex TA400 40-tonne payload articulated hauler.

Moreover, Terex will use telematics to provide real-time performance data to prospective customers.

“Hillhead is a no-nonsense show where the machines are left to do the talking,” said Lyle Sibbald, marketing manager at Terex Trucks.

“These demanding quarry conditions are our machines’ natural habitat – helping us underline our strap line of ‘proven performance’,” he added.

The quarrying and mining exhibition will take place later this month in the UK county of Derbyshire. In keeping with Hillhead’s reputation as a ‘working’ show with an in situ quarry, Terex plans to run the two haulers – owned by nearby customer Longcliffe Quarries – for the duration of the event.

Before the Hillhead 2014 opens to the public, show organisers will conduct a blast on the north face of the quarry. Not only will this serve to continue the development of the bench, but it will also deposit approximately 10,000 tonnes of run-of-quarry stone suitable for demonstration purposes.

The Terex TR70 rigid hauler sports a 760hp/567kW engine. The 70-tonne behemoth and its smaller, articulated counterpart will assist large wheel loaders and excavators that will also be strutting their stuff at the event.

Hillhead 2014 will take place in the UK town of Buxton from 24-26 June.
