Renault Tech has converted and delivered its 500,000th Kangoo model to telecoms company, Orange.
The keys to the vehicle were handed over to Orange’s director of facilities and mobility management, Hélène Billon, by Renault Tech head Eric Lemonnier. Also present at the ceremony was Jose Martin Vega, head of Renault’s Maubeuge plant where the Kangoo was manufactured.
The vehicle was adapted to Orange’s specific requirements by the Renault Tech team onsite at the French factory. The specialist Renault outfit designs, builds, and sells converted vehicles both for private motorists and business customers. The company operates inside 11 bodywork and assembly plants across the Renault business.
In the final quarter of 2013, Renault Tech reached another milestone with the delivery of its 100,000th converted Master van. The vehicle was delivered to ERDF, a wholly owned subsidiary of EDF Group.
Renault Tech carried out a total of 121,101 conversions in 2013, 23,540 of which involved Kangoo vehicles. Conversions for business fleets account for approximately 18% of the business unit’s activity.
