A Sennaebogen 673 R telescopic crawler has impressed those working on the construction of a EUROBUS facility with its “flexibility and stability”.

The unit, which was supplied by Sennebogen’s Swiss sales and service partner, Kuhn Baumaschinen, has been enlisted by contractor METHABAU at the construction site of EUROBUS’ latest multi-storey facility in Basserdorf, Switzerland. In addition to performing all lifting and logistics tasks at the facility, the 673 R is being used to offer simultaneous support at parallel construction sites.

“The new Sennebogen 673 telescopic crawler crane is perfect for this demanding application,” commented Andreas Sprecher, one of the METHABAU employees responsible for the machine’s operation.

“The flexibility and stability are convincing; even under load I can move the crane safely. This saves time and makes the machine a reliable helper on the construction site,” he added.

The 673 R’s variable, four-section telescopic boom offers a reach of 36m for working loads of up to 70 tonnes. The 160kW telescopic crane boasts a robust crawler chassis that facilitates efficient movement under load, and enhanced onsite manoeuvrability. Moreover, when the crawler chassis is retracted, the crane has a transport width of only 3m, meaning that it can be transported from site to site by a flatbed truck.

This mixture of flexibility and stability has impressed its METHABAU operators, who are scheduled to complete the EUROBUS facility by 2014. Once finished, the two-story depot will accommodate 140 tour buses and public transportation buses, and will offer parking for up to 170 automobiles on its roof.
