The technical services team at Terex Aerial Work Platforms (Terex AWP) has hosted a two-day event for technical personnel from the manufacturer’s network of rental companies and distributors.

The ‘At Your Service’ summit, which was held in the Netherlands in December, was attended by Terex partners from 30 different countries.

The event focused on the products of AWP manufacturer Genie: part of the Terex family. In attendance were technical services and parts managers from Genie equipment dealers and rental companies operating across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR).

‘At Your Service’ organisers covered a range of topics during the summit, including product safety, quality standards, service solutions, technical support, and EU legislation. Attendees were also given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the principles behind inventory warehousing, shipment, pre-delivery inspection, and equipment painting processes at Genie’s European distribution centre in Roosendaal.

Partners from as far afield as Qatar and Saudi Arabia were given hands-on experience with recently launched Genie machines, and product training programmes were also introduced.

Vincent Vaché, Terex AWP technical services manager for the EMEAR region, said: “We wanted to show the best practices that our technical services team in EMEAR puts in place in order to provide the best possible support for our customers.”

Many of the partners in attendance praised the content and organisation of the ‘At Your Service’ summit.

“The event was well organised and all the six workshops in the EDC were useful and inspirational,” commented Pavel Foltyn, technical services manager at Czech Republic-based Statech.

Jack Wondergem, service coordinator at HDW in the Netherlands, said: “The Technical Customer Summit was well organised and the members of the Genie team were beaming with enthusiasm.”

It is hoped the event will grow to become a regular opportunity for Terex AWP partners to keep up to date with the latest technical advances, according to Vaché.

“We’ve had excellent feedback from our customers about both the educational content and the organisation of the event,” he explained. “We are pursuing a goal: to keep on sharing our expertise with our customers by getting together on a regular basis to build up an integrated Genie technical services family.”
