Volvo Trucks has projected a 20% increase in deliveries across the Middle East region during 2014.

The Swedish truck maker enjoyed a successful first quarter, with a 13% recorded increase in forecasted deliveries across its 13 active Middle East markets. The improved figures follow the launch of three region-specific models earlier in the year: the FH, the FM, and the FMX.

“The ongoing development of the Middle East truck market makes it a key focus for Volvo Trucks, and we intend to build on this great start to the year to reach our goals,” said Lars-Erik Forsbergh, president of Volvo Trucks for the Middle East.

“The new FH, FM, and FMX models will help us to do that as they offer the highest possible standards of reliability, handling, timesaving features, fuel efficiency, safety, and driver comfort to our Middle East customers,” he added.

Volvo Trucks unveiled its latest range for the region during an action-packed launch event at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit. The line-up features Volvo Dynamic steering, I-Shift geartbox technology, and redesigned cabs, among a host of other improvements.

As Forsbergh explained: “This new range of trucks is the most advanced the world has seen, and has allowed us to introduce an assortment of innovative features to the market, all with a clear purpose: to help improve truck productivity and durability, and consequently, customer profitability, while making life safer and more enjoyable for the driver.”
