MAN Truck & Bus has launched its brand new MAN TGS WW 6×4 tractor head at The Big 5 2013.
The tractor head, which has been exclusively designed for the Middle East, combines traction and long-haul operation with the dynamic MAN Aero Package and the MAN TipMatic system for increased efficiency.
In conjunction with the trucks’ strong traction chassis, these features have been designed to achieve off-road applications that cater specifically to the tough road conditions common across the Middle East.
The MAN Aero Package offers optimised airflow through improved aerodynamics to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 3%. The MAN TipMatic system reduces fuel consumption by up to 5% through improved gear shifting.
MAN claims that its new system results in lower levels of wear and tear on the driveline and mitigates damage caused by the errors of less experienced drivers.
“The Big 5 Expo is a significant event for us and we appreciate the regional impact of the exhibition to attract customers from the entire Middle East and to bundle different sectors of the industry under one roof,” said David van Graan, head of the MAN Center Middle East and vice president for sales and marketing. “Over the years, MAN trucks have consistently fulfilled the highly demanding needs of customers in the construction sector [of the] Middle East with their efficient operation and ruggedness, combined with high payload.
“Our participation this year reflects MAN’s innovative technology, product superiority and focus for the region with customised products specifically developed for our customers here based on their feedback, as highlighted by the MAN TGS WW 6×4 tractor head,” he added.
