Jaidah Heavy Equipment has thrown down the gauntlet to Qatar’s excavator operators, challenging them to prove their skills in an excavator contest.
As Komatsu’s authorised dealer for Qatar, Jaidah has invited a selection of the Emirate’s best operators to take part in a golf ball challenge.
Competitors will use one of Komatsu’s giant hydraulic excavators to transport a golf ball between two designated points. The participant who completes the task in the shortest time will be declared winner.
“Operators will use the excavator, not to dig for a road, [a] base for a building, or [to place] infrastructure, but to carry and move a golf ball,” Jaidah explained in its invitation to competitors.
“That tiny mission requires an accurate excavator, as well as [a] skilled operator,” the dealer added.
A field of 25 operators will compete to be crowned Qatar’s best excavator operator. No special equipment will be provided; contestants are expected to use a standard-sized bucket to transport the miniscule load.
The three quickest participants on the night will receive prizes. The event is scheduled to take place in Doha this evening.
