Atlas Copco
The XRVS 1000, rated with a free air delivery of 1000 cfm at 25 bar (365 psi) is powered by a Caterpillar C13 acert T3 diesel engine and Atlas Copco FuelExpert to provide fuel consumption figures of just 60-62 l/h. The demand for drilling equipment continues to rise.

This series is particularly adapted for deep water well drilling under harsh conditions. The frame is rugged and built to last, and the machine is designed for continuous duty.

It is perfect for building sites: both in helping lay the foundations of buildings, and ground consolidation. Also for pipeline cleaning, it is the ideal machine, thanks to its ability to vary between lower and higher-pressure outputs.

Doosan Telehandlers
Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment has entered the high capacity telehandler market with the launch of a new range of four models for the Middle East.

With maximum lift heights of 10 m and lifting capacities from 7 to 21 ton, Doosan says its telehandlers are combine the flexibility of traditional telescopic handlers with the power of wheeled loaders, the efficiency of rough terrain forklifts and the reach of mobile cranes.

Doosan’s new telehandlers can be fitted with buckets up to 4.5m³ in volume, The smallest model in the range is the DT70 telehandler which has a maximum lift capacity of 7 tons, a maximum lift height of 9.65 m and a maximum forward reach of 5.4 m. The DT70 is driven by the Iveco NEF-TA diesel engine which produces 93 kW of power at 2200 rpm.

The DT120, has a maximum lift capacity of 12 tonne, a maximum lift height of 9.4 m and a maximum forward reach of 4.9 m. Power is provided by the 106 kW Perkins 1104D-ETA diesel engine, while the The two largest models – the DT160 and the DT210 – both have a maximum lift height of 10.2 m and maximum forward reach of 5.15 m, with maximum lift capacities being 16 and 21 tonne, respectively.

Both the DT160 and DT210 are driven by the Perkins 1106D-ETA diesel engine providing 146 kW of power at 2200 rpm.

Bobcat Upgrades cabs
The last thing an operator wants to deal with when he has a long day at the levers is an uncomfortable working environment, which is why Bobcat has updated its cabs with a range of new features.

Perhaps most importantly for operators in the Middle East is the new air-conditioning system which has been built in to the dashboard and provide 40% more cool air than on previous models.

The dash itself had also been improved with new back-lit switches, and the unit has also been lowered to give the operator a better view of the attachment and working area.

Bobcat attachments
Bobcat has just launched a series of new hydraulic hoist and extension jib attachments for the company’s telehandler range. They’re designed to give telehandlers crane functions with all the flexibility that a telehandler offers.

There are two types of attachment available – hydraulic hoists rated to 3.5 or 4.0 ton and 600-1000 kg hydraulic hoists, each combined with a 4m jib, all meeting the latest ISO 430 1 – 1 classification T4, L2, M4.

Using the hoist and jib attachments, the telehandler can be used to position loads in places which are difficult to access conventionally using the boom on the telehandler alone.

Largest Bobcats ever
The company that built its reputation for compact workhorse site machines has just launched its two largest loaders ever. The S850 skid-steer loader and T870 compact tracked loader are the most powerful loaders offering the highest lift height ever manufactured by the company.

The S850 and T870 loaders are intended to run the most powerful attachments from Bobcat such as wheelsaws to cut trenches for cable/pipe laying (including the new WS32 wheelsaw providing an 80 cm dig depth) and the massive forestry cutter attachment. The new machines are also designed to deal with other heavy duty jobs like grading, lifting, planing, landscaping, trenching, construction and demolition.

Brush Saw
Korean-owned compact equipment firm Bobcat has launched a new attachment known as a ‘brush-saw.’ The saw has an operating weight of 268 kg though a special applications kit is required for use on the loader when operating the brush saw. Steel deflector shields protect the operator and loader from flying debris.

The saw is approved for use on all of the maker’s skid-steer loaders from the S100 to the S330, including the new generation models. The attachment is also approved for the entire line up of Bobcat compact tracked loaders.

High lift loader
A new extra high-lift option for the Cat 994F wheel loader has been launched in order that the machines can fill mining trucks more easily.. The Extended High Lift (EHL) linkage provides 42 in (1075 mm) more dump clearance compared to the regular High Lift linkage.

The maker says that the extra lift height makes it easier for the operator to load a 250-ton size class truck. For faster cycle times, the operator can back the 994F away from the truck without racking back the bucket.

The additional lift also enables the operator to dump the last pass without pushing material. Centering the load, for reduced truck wear, better truck handling and less spillage, is easier, too.

Cat Track Loader
You don’t see many track loaders in these pages (as opposed to wheel loaders or bulldozers), So it is nice to bring you the new 973D, featuring load-sensing hydraulics, joystick steering, new operator’s station (with tilting cab) and 10 percent more power than its 973C predecessor.

The new loader carries on the 973C’s “all-purpose performer” reputation and retains much of its solid design, including the Cat C9 engine, hydrostatic drive, single-fabrication mainframe, Z-bar loader linkage and oscillating undercarriage.

Starbus hits streets
The latest vehicle to be built for the UAE’s federal guidelines for school buses is branded Tata, though actually a joint venture between the Indian company and Marcopolo.

The Starbus incorporates features, including tooth-guards, guardrails, semi-sliding windows, a door with an alarm, anti-skid floors, retractable lower first step (on the 52-seater), stop switches on each window pillar, emergency exit doors and much more.

The bus is specified with power steering, both tilt and telescopic type, and automated manual transmission (6-speed cable shift) make maneuverability easy.

Cement buckets
With more attachments available than the average kitchen mixer – and a sight more handy, Bobcat’s compact loaders and telehandlers are indispensable construction site task masters.

The company’s new range of MB250SD mixing buckets has just added another string to Bobcat bow by allowing operators to mix, transport and pour cement far quicker than a stand-alone mixer.

The mixing buckets offer two types of discharge: the ‘traditional’ method by tipping the bucket forward to empty it or by using the side discharge system, with or without a tube, allowing the operator to place the desired amount of mixed material (cement/concrete) exactly where they want it.

Genset sync
Another product from the Doosan empire is a range of improvements to Ingersoll Rand generating sets (which, confusingly are neither built, marketed or sold by the IR corporation) A new ‘synchronization option’ referred to as the AGC200 is now available for the G250, G400 and G500 PowerSource generator models.

Combined with the reliable Cummins engines and Leroy Somer alternators on the Doosan generators, the makers say that the synchronization feature will allow specialist generator rental companies to manage fleet modularity and thereby increase utilization rates.
