JCB has secured its first deal in gas-powered generator sector after signing a deal for $13.2m (£10m) for the delivery of 34.5MW in capacity to UK alternative electricity generating company AGR Group.
AGR specialises in low-carbon energy generation for communities and businesses, and the order will grow their capacity by delivering five 11kV and 6.6kV sites in England, UK.
The order includes both 2.5MW and 2MW generator models, powered by MTU gas engines, that will be supplied as both open and containerised models at 11kV and 6.6kV sites and be run 1,500 hours a year from the end of 2017.
JCB Power Products dealer Applied Power Engineering will install and subsequently service the gas-powered JCB generator sets on site.

Alongside the long-term maintenance agreement, each generator will be installed with remote monitoring to enable 24/7 surveillance to ensure optimal performance as part of the agreement.

The AGR Group specialises in sustainable, low carbon energy generation for communities and businesses and, since 2011, has delivered projects worth $330m (£250m) across the UK.
