Aerial work platform specialist JLG has launched a number of products to coincide with CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014.
The company will be showcasing its new 3614RS and 4017RS rental-spec telehandlers, the H340AJ four-wheel, electric drive hybrid boom, and the 1850SJ Ultra boom.
As with many AWP manufacturers, the rental industry represents one of JLG’s biggest target markets. The 3614RS and 4017RS have been designed to appeal to hire firms, with simplified servicing and maintenance requirements. Access to the external telescope cylinder and electronics, for example, can be gained from outside rather than inside the boom. What’s more, the machines’ cabs can be cleaned with pressure washers to allow for a speedy turnaround between rental customers.
Brian Boeckman, JLG’s global product director for telehandlers, said: “Added comfort, improved serviceability, and a lower cost of ownership come together in the JLG 3614RS and 4017RS, making these telehandlers ideal machines for rental fleets looking for value.”
The H340AJ is the world’s first four-wheel, electric-drive hybrid boom, according to JLG. By combining diesel fuel with an electric power system, the unit has been designed to offer the power and durability of a conventional machine with reduced operational costs.
“This innovative lift is designed to perform on par with its diesel-powered alternative,” explained Jeff Ford, JLG’s global product director for aerial work platforms. “The JLG H340AJ has four independent electric-drive motors that provide unprecedented rough-terrain performance, and relies on an environmentally friendly, Tier 4 diesel-powered generator for recharging.”
JLG’s 1850SJ Ultra boom, meanwhile, is a self-propelled lift that offers users 19 storeys of working height. With a maximum capacity of 450kg and the ability to extend from ground level to full height within less than five minutes, the 1850SJ has been designed to allow workers to elevate more materials in shorter cycles.
“From the larger work envelope and unprecedented access, to the fastest lift speeds, telescopic jib and LCD displays, the JLG 1850 SJ boom can allow customers to work more effectively and productively on the jobsite,” commented Ford.
JLG will be showcasing its latest models at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014. The AWPs will be displayed on the manufacturer’s Gold Lot booth 1037 from 4-8 March 2014 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
