Haulotte’s entire range of aerial work platforms (AWPs) above 20m in height has been deployed to the construction site of Abu Dhabi International Airport’s Midfield Terminal Building (MTB) expansion project by United Gulf Equipment Rentals (UGER).
As Haulotte’s dealer UGER has dominated the expansion project with the brand’s AWP product through various sales and leasing arrangements with different contractors working on the project.
“70 units of various Haulotte models are working on site,” UGER has stated. “It’s all because of the service we have provided to the end users, and the support of Haulotte over the past 18 months.
“This project is expected to complete by end of 2017 and we are confident not only in maintaining our existing Haulotte fleet but in the possibility of adding new units and improving the quality of service even further by deploying technicians 24/7 to deliver further advantage the contractors.”
Many of the Haulotte models working at the MTB are Haulotte’s the 43m telescopic boom, and its 32m and 41m articulated booms — the 41m providing a maximum outreach of 19.8m and a lifting speed of less than 40 seconds, and the 32m articulated boom and 43m telescopic booms delivering rough-terrain capabilities.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) signed the $2.94bn contract for the construction of the MTB expansion project with a joint venture between TAV, CCC, and Arabtec in 2012.
UGER joined the project in 2014 to provide a mainly large-boom Haulotte AWPs and expects to remain until the planned opening of the new terminal in 2017.
