Tomas Kuta has been appointed as the senior VP for sales at Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) — having worked for the company since 1997, most recently as the president for Volco CE’s EMEA sales region.

The role expands his responsibilities to include the leadership of the development and delivery of Volvo CE’s sales strategy worldwide, while serving as part of the executive management team reporting to company president, Martin Weissburg.

Over his career with Volvo, Kuta has also been VP of global marketing for the brand’s articulated haulers business, head of its Russian and Ukrainian dealerships from 2005 to 2008 and president of Volvo’s global customer support function from 2008-2011.

In his most recent role, Kuta oversaw the merger of Volvo’s pre-existing sales European and International that led to the creation of his current position — aimed at delivering a general-purpose machine for growing market share in the various markets of operation.

Kuta commented: “At this exciting time for Volvo Construction Equipment I am very energised about this opportunity and look forward to working closely with our dealers to drive forward the company’s product and service offering to our valued customers.”

Prior to joining Volvo, Tomas also held the positions of MD for the distributor for Apple in the Czech and Slovak Republics and head for Colliers International in Eastern Europe, and spent a number of years with Snowbird and Aspen in the United States and Chile.

From his education, Kuta holds a degree in business administration from the University Michigan, and studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University in the Czech Republic.
