A survey of by Intermat Middle East of their top 150 buyers revealed that the vast majority prefer an international event hosted in Abu Dhabi, while most do not attend international exhibitions overseas.

According to the survey:

• 85% of buyers prefer an international event hosted in Abu Dhabi

• 65% do not attend international exhibitions

• 77% are interested in viewing new products, specifically new technology

• 67% would like to meet new suppliers in the region

The results bode well for exhibitors, who are hoping to make the most of the opportunities for sales and connections.

Organisers says the survey results state emphatically that the strategic location of the show is ideal for organisations and individuals in the construction and infrastructure industries network and establish profitable relationships for building thefuture of the UAE, GCC and Middle East, North Africa and Asian Sub continent.

The second edition of Intermat Middle East will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Federal Minister of Public Works, it was announced.

According to the organisers, more than 7,000 international buyers are expected to attend the exhibition, held in Abu Dhabi 8-10 October, and will include an outdoor area showcasing machinery.

Well-known exhibitors at this year’s exhibition will include Liebherr, Terex Finlay, Atlas-Copco, Manitowoc, Liugong, and Doosan.
