South Korean equipment manufacturer Doosan is targeting Middle East and African markets with a new range of crawler excavators.
The DX225LCA model is on show at the Intermat exhibition in Paris, which along with two larger models, the DX300LCA and DX340LCA, has a number of features tailored specifically to the requirements of the Middle East and African markets.
This includes less electronics, resulting in machines that are easier to maintain.
And the models are powered by Doosan Tier 2 compliant engines, offering fuel savings of up to 15%.
The company said that the vehicles are designed to be robust, with a view to long-term reliability, therefore minimising downtime.
Overall, increased fuel savings and fewer maintenance requirements should result in lower operating costs.
The DX225LCA is equipped with an air to air intercooler 6-cylinder Doosan DB58TIS Tier 2 compliant engine, capable of developing 110 kW of power.
It is said by Doosan to provide impressive bucket and dipper stick breakout forces of 15.2 and 12.6tonnes respectively.
It has an operating weight of between 21.5 and 23.2tonnes, depending on configuration.
The new excavator models replace the previous Solar range.
