SSAB aims to be the first steel company in the world to bring fossil-free steel to the market already in 2026 and be practically fossil free by 2045.

New products launched by SSAB during 2019-20 include the Hardox Hi-Temp steel which doesn’t lose its hardness in the very hot applications, Hardox HiAce which is designed for acidic environments like the floors and side walls of garbage compactors, and Hardox 500TUF which combines the hardness of Hardox 500 with the toughness of the Hardox 450 making it suitable as a structural material in heavy-duty tipper bodies and containers.
