Swaidan Saeed Juma Al Naboodah, managing director, Al Naboodah Group Enterprises, points out the company’s customer-centric initiatives in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
“In addition to our own sterilisation and safety measures initiated in all our workshops to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers, we have introduced a number of sterilisation services available to our transportation fleet customers.
“These include interior and exterior sterilisation, as well as continuous interior sterilisation via the air-conditioning and ventilation systems. We also offer customised solutions to address the new safety norms due to the COVID crisis for our bus customers. In more specialised initiatives, we supported the DTC and Union Coop during the pandemic by converting an Ashok Leyland Falcon Bus into a mobile grocery outlet.”
With regard to the company’s post COVID-19 outlook and growth strategy for 2020–21, Swaidan Saeed Juma Al Naboodah comments: “We expect the overall business volumes and size of the market to shrink by 30% to 40% in the short to medium term as a result of the pandemic.
“However, we plan to drive expansion within our current product portfolio through our experience in the region, and by providing customised solutions for operators, such as offering a full package with fixed service costs, to provide the lowest total cost of ownership.
Another potential for growth is the logistics sector, which is expected to grow due to an increase in demand for door-to-door deliveries, and this will increase further once restriction on movements of people and goods have been lifted.
We also expect a slow, but steady increase in the demand for hydro-carbon fuel products across the world as countries begin to come back out of lock-down, which will jump-start projects in the oil & gas sector.
There will also be a big demand for special product modifications to enforce social distancing requirements on transportation and working vehicles.”
