Volvo Truks is one of the largest medium to heavy-duty truck brands in the world. More than 95% of Volvo trucks are built over 16 tonnes. Volvo Trucks are assembled in 13 countries across the globe. About 95% of the company’s production capacity is located in Sweden, Belgium, Brazil and the USA. Its vehicles are sold and serviced in more than 130 countries, supported by over 2300 dealerships and workshops.
Volvo Trucks looks at safety from different perspectives, inside as well as outside the truck, which enables the manufacturer to create systems that go beyond what’s required by authorities, and guides it towards its vision of zero accidents with Volvo trucks.
With the sales start this year of three new heavy-duty all-electric models, Volvo Trucks believes the time is right for a rapid upswing in electrification of heavy road transport. This positive outlook is based on the ability of Volvo’s electric trucks to meet a broad variety of transport needs.
“There is huge potential to electrify truck transports in Europe and other parts of the world, in the near future. We have set the goal to have electric trucks account for half of our sales in Europe by 2030,” says Roger Alm, president, Volvo Trucks.
