Three MAN Diesel & Turbo generator sets are being used to supply power for a crane facility located in Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Port.
The facility has now been handed over to Energy Solutions Developers and Managers (ESDM), and is using the MAN 18V32/40 units to supply approximately 26MW of electricity to power its cranes.
With a capacity of 65 tonnes, the crane hub is equipped to load and unload some of the largest container ships in the world.
King Abdullah Port, which forms part of King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), is situated on the coast of the Red Sea between the Holy Cities of Mecca and Medina.

MAN Diesel & Turbo’s previous projects in Saudi Arabia include a 40MW unit for Arabian Cement Company (ACC), a 54MW heavy-duty power plant for United Cement Industrial Company (UCIC), and an installation of approximately 60MW for Yanbu Cement Company.
