Kuwait’s Arabi Enertech has acquired 13 Grove cranes, supplied by the Manitowoc distributor and Kuwaiti equipment company, Equipment Co., for use on primarily oil and gas projects in Kuwait.
The mobile cranes purchased by Arabi Enertech include one RT530E-2, three Grove GMK3055 models, four GMK4080-1 models, four GMK5130-2s and one GMK6300L.
The RT530E-2 has a 30t capacity and a 29m-long, four-section main boom; the Grove GMK3055 a 55t capacity and 43m boom with twin-lock pinning; and the GMK4080-1 an 80t capacity and 51m boom.
The larger Grove GMK5130-2 meanwhile has a 130t capacity and a 60m, six-section boom; and the GMK6300L has a 300t capacity and the longest boom in its class at 80m, extendable with a 37m jib.
Khalid Behbehani, CEO at Arabi Enertech, said his company selected the cranes to help meet the oil and gas sector’s rising demand for heavier equipment.
“As an oil and gas contractor, we require a number of cranes to carry out routine maintenance work on the oil fields and refineries,” he explained.
“We have been buying Grove cranes for a number of years and have always been satisfied with their performance and the after sales support. In particular, we like to utilise the Grove RT530E-2’s main boom, which is capable of handling the intense weight of multi-ton rigging operations.”
Arabi Enertech K.S.C was founded in 1978 and works mainly in the contracting, construction and oil and gas industries in Kuwait.
