Rapid Access, the Dubai-based provider of powered access solutions, has launched the first mobile app to help contractors in the Middle East region select the appropriate aerial work platforms (AWPs) for their applications.

The App is being launched in six versions – one for each of the GCC countries where the company has depots to support its rental fleet of 4,000 machines across the region, as well as its sales activities.

Alexis Potter, sales and marketing director for Rapid Access, said: “In launching this app – the first of its kind in the region – we are giving our customers even greater access to our products and services.

“Our App features a unique platform selector which, in four easy steps, helps users to select the right aerial work platform for their application. It also provides a range of information about our health and safety innovations, training courses and depots across the region.”

Part of UK-based Lavendon Group, Rapid Access also introducing a refurbished website last year in support of the region’s developing health and safety culture and subsequently growing demand for aerial work platforms.

Potter added: “Our customers require access to our services on demand and often have to work on the move to challenging deadlines. We believe this App will improve connectivity between Rapid and our customer base and in doing so improve their ability to deliver safe working at height solutions.”

Rapid Access has a total of eight locations across the six GCC countries, and as part of the Lavendon Group, the world’s largest specialist rental business, has one of the region’s largest and most diverse fleets of AWP machines, including a complete range of electric and diesel scissors and boom lifts.

It also claims to be the first company in the region to offer a range of low-level access products, including battery powered and push-around machines that are ideal for confined indoor spaces.
