Magna Tyres, established 15 years ago, has grown from a rubber compound specialist to a global supplier of OTR, industrial and truck tyres with an extensive dealer network and leading presence in more than 130 countries served by 250 employees spread over 14 sales offices.
With a focus on market penetration and expansion in the MEA region, Magna Tyres has appointed new distributors in Burkina Faso, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Ivory Coast.
“The Middle East and Africa region is rapidly evolving. The rapid urbanization and strong economic growth and rising disposable income are key drivers for our products. We always develop and customise products by listening to our customers, to suit their local operations. Magna Tyres have cut resistant and heat resistant products to suit all operational requirements with the highest ton- kilometers per hour (TKPH) and a wide range of sizes in 25–27 inches. In addition to our radial options, we offer bias variants for price conscious customers. We are working on introducing other additional sizes and variants and expand the product line in the coming years. Our cut resistant/ heat resistant products offer the lowest cost per hour,” says Michael de Ruijter, CEO, Magna Tyres.
New products launched by Magna Tyres in the MEA include a new pattern of 20.5R 25 M–Terrain tyres; 3Star rated RDT tyres in size 24.00R35; the M Stacker range in 1800-25 for reach stackers in port handling, with 32% enhanced performance from the earlier Magna MB01; and the 27.00R49, which is available in MA04, MA04+and M Rigid patterns for the earthmoving segment.
With regard to new technologies, Magna has introduced its tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to enable total tyre management with very little human interaction at operational level. The TPMS serves as a remote diagnostic tool to alert customers of potential problems and avoid downtime.
Magna Tyres has been dealing with the pandemic, reduced workforce and global supply chain disruptions, by planning in advance to fulfil orders. All tyres are sanitized before loading, and smaller orders are processed to support customers. The manufacturer added new regional stock points to ensure availability and reduce delivery time. The introduction of Magna’s dealer portal has enabled customers to check product availability and place orders 24×7.
Magna’s new head office and 55,000m2 warehouse in the Netherlands is equipped to maintain a larger stock which will result in better availability and faster delivery. As a part of its expansion in the MEA, Magna is planning to set up a 30,000m2 closed warehousing facility in UAE by end of 2022.
“Magna Tyres prioritises quality, price, ease of availability of products, and on-time delivery. Irrespective of the current challenges worldwide, we continue to support our customers to ensure that all their requirements are fulfilled,” says Michael.
