How would you assess the Middle East’s commercial vehicle market at present?

I would say that the market size in the Middle East [has been] affected [by] the drop in oil prices, which has led to a slowdown in investments and operations.

How has business been for Ford Trucks in the Middle East during the past year?

In spite of shrinking GCC markets, Ford Trucks has successfully delivered vehicles to a number of medium-to-large-sized logistics and construction firms in [several new markets]. We have also increased our market share in our existing ones. We provide transportation solutions to the major players in the GCC’s readymix and logistics sectors, [which are supporting] the industrial, infrastructure, and commercial projects being built in the [Middle East].

What are Ford Trucks’ plans for The Big 5 2016?

We will be displaying a range of visually and technologically advanced heavy commercial vehicles, including an 1843T tractor, a new 3543M 6×4 chassis mixer, as well as a 4143M 8×4 chassis mixer. All our product variants, including tractors, road trucks, and construction series with tipper and mixer superstructures, are customised with transmissions and cabin types for on- and off-road conditions, suitable for the Middle East market.

In which ME markets are Ford Trucks’ products currently in highest demand?

Ford Trucks’ construction, waste management, and tractor models are currently in highest demand. Our vehicles are operated by the biggest names in the [Middle East’s] construction, waste management, and logistics businesses.
