Balkrishna Industries (BKT) has started production of radial agricultural tyres at its expanded Bhuj plant in India. The $104 million plant is spread over 12 acres and will achieve its full manufacturing capacity of 50,000 tonnes within six months.
BKT is expanding its tyre production to meet the global increase in the demand of tyres particularly from the agricultural sector. The new plant in Bhuj, Gujarat, is located at a distance of about 60 kms from the Port of Mundra on the Arabian Sea, which facilitates shipping to over 160 countries.
