Johnson Arabia announces multi-equipment fleet expansion

Johnson Arabia recently expanded its fleet by acquiring several new equipment in multiple categories including cranes, AWPs and trucks.

The new machines include a Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane; two MAN tractors; JLG R1932, R2632, R3246 and R4045 electric scissor lifts; JLG 450AJ articulating boom lift; JLG 660SJ, 860SJ and 1200SJP telescopic boom lifts; and JLG EC600, EC450 and EC520 electric boom lifts, which are new to GCC markets.

The latest investments by Johnson Arabia were driven by growth in the company’s equipment rental business and the increase in demand for environmentally-friendly machinery, particularly for projects that aim to achieve LEED certification.

Martin Kirby, managing director, Johnson Arabia, says: “As market leaders, we constantly evaluate what our clients are hiring on a larger scale from us and what will have long-term benefit to our fleet; that is why we have decided to invest in so many new machines. As our business grows, we need to upgrade our fleet constantly to enhance our customer service.”

Joe Keely, AWP executive manager, Johnson Arabia, adds: “As governments adopt and encourage sustainability practices, a lot of our clients are becoming conscious of emissions generated from the utilisation of their equipment. As a result, we saw increasing demand for electric AWPs, and in response, we had to improve our existing fleet to meet the market needs. The AWP fleet expansion was facilitated by Johnson Arabia’s long-standing relationship with JLG.”

The purchase of the Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 along with its 85-m main boom was facilitated by Netherlands-based Adrighem, which is a pioneer in the supply of large cranes and maintains a vast equipment inventory that is managed from the company’s headquarters. Adrighem also benefits from access to the new terminal in Vlaardingen, Netherlands, which is strategically located for global maritime shipping as well as storage.

Mohammad Fareed, crane executive manager, Johnson Arabia, says: “We are pleased with the massive lifting capabilities of our 450-tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 and its ECOmode feature which reduces the crane’s fuel consumption by up to 10%.” The two MAN tractors that were added to the fleet of existing trucks will enable Johnson Arabia to have more control over the logistics and transportation of their equipment whereby they will have full control over equipment delivery times and help service clients better with no external delay.
