Atlas Copco has won two prestigious international accolades at the 2017 Red Dot Design Awards for its 8-series portable compressor range and HiLight H5+ LED light tower.
Both products are designed and manufactured by the portable energy division within Atlas Copco’s Construction Technique business unit.
“We are proud to once again be recognised with this distinguished prize for outstanding design,” said Andrew Walker, president for the Construction Technique business unit at Atlas Copco.
“As always, our product design has focused on providing true customer benefits such as boosting performance and operator comfort while reducing fuel consumption and service needs.”
The 8-series compressors are recognized for raising the design standards when it comes to size, weight, efficiency and performance, partly by incorporating the latest tough and aesthetically pleasing HardHat canopy.
The light tower was recognized for its innovative optic lenses that maximise light coverage.
The Red Dot international design competition is aimed at recognising companies that distinguish themselves in their industry through design.
The awards are presented according to a range of different criteria by expert juries in the areas of product design, communication design, and design concepts.
The official Red Dot Gala will take place in Essen, Germany, on 3 July.
