French mobile crane rental company Montagrues has purchased its first LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane from Liebherr, which will be used in metropolitan France.
With a lifting capacity of 300 tonnes, it will complement Montagrues’ existing crane portfolio and expand the group’s capacity for large lifting operations, Liebherr wrote in a statement.
The LTM 1300-6.3 mobile crane has a 90-metre telescopic boom, which it carries in full on public roads with a 12-tonne axle load, the statement noted.
It is designed to be used as a versatile and economical fast-erecting crane with six axles and a high capacity at extreme hoist heights with steep boom positions.
This makes it ideal for erecting tower cranes and antennae as well as for wind turbine maintenance work, the company said.
Commenting on the development, Arnaud Berteau, Managing Director at Montagrues, a subsidiary of the Martinique-based Plissonneau Group, said, “We chose this crane because its tonnage and long boom length make it a logical addition to our range of machines for operations at great heights. Moreover, Liebherr has been our exclusive partner for many years,” says Only last year the group took over the mobile crane rental company Montagrues, with which Liebherr has been working successfully since the early 1990s.
He said, “We have always trusted in the reliability of Liebherr products and the company’s excellent customer service.”
Strong partnership for over 30 years
Founded in 1973, Montagrues specialises in tower crane assembly and material handling equipment alongside its lifting operation, it acquired its first LTM 1200 Liebherr crane in 1992.
Since then, the company, which operates mainly in the greater Paris area, has grown steadily and currently has around 40 mobile cranes and mobile construction cranes in its fleet.
Last year, Montagrues was taken over by the Plissonneau Group. The corporate conglomerate headed by François Machenaud is based in Martinique.
With the acquisition of the mobile crane rental company Montagrues, Plissonneau has continued its expansion in France. The LTM 1300-6.3 is the first crane Liebherr has delivered to the company since the takeover.
