Japan-based truck manufacturer Hino Motors has officially launched its first regional technical training centre in Sharjah Airport International Free Zone. The centre will be run by Japanese instructors.

Technicians and engineers from across the region will be able to develop their skills technically and on a customer service level, as well as receiving guidance in their personal development and career progress.

The company, a subsidiary of Toyota, has been present in the Middle East since 1970. The group offers a range of light and heavy duty tractor heads, pick-ups and vans.

Takeshi Kumeda, the GM of Hino Middle East, said: “In view of this increase in sales and growth of our dealer network across the region, it is essential [that we] offer the appropriate support network to facilitate this continued growth. We believe this new facility demonstrates our confidence in the region and will provide Hino customers with further peace of mind that they are receiving the best after-sales service.”

Another international truck brand, Scania, recently invested in a training facility at a new assembly plant in Jebel Ali Free Zone.
