DP World Jeddah has announced it has taken delivery of 15 cranes at the south container terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port.
The cranes were supplied by Zhenhua Port Machinery Company (ZPMC) of China, and include three Super-Super Post Panamax (SSPP) cranes and 12 Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes.
“The new acquisitions mark an important milestone for DP World Jeddah and fulfil our earlier commitment to deliver state-of-the art yard equipment to enhance the terminals efficiency and productivity,” said DP World Middle East senior VP and MD Faisal Al Qahtani.
The SSPP cranes each have a capacity of 65 tonnes and an outreach of 55 metres, while the RTGs are capable of lifting one-over six container tiers and stacking containers in six rows.
The delivery of cranes is the second that DP World Jeddah has received in the last two months.
