Comedat has put 90 Terex Trucks units to work across three mines in the Middle East.
The machines, which were built in Motherwell, Scotland, will be used to mine phosphate in the north and south of Jordan.
Family-run mining firm, Comedat, owns one of the world’s largest fleets of Terex Trucks haulers. The company’s models include 91-tonne capacity TR100s and 54.5-tonne capacity TR60s.
Commenting on the firm’s latest deployment, Sameh Dababneh, chief executive officer Comedat, said: “Terex Trucks delivers excellent performing machines.
“From experience, no matter how hard I push the trucks, they keep on going, so over the years, whenever I have expanded my fleet, there is only one company I look to.”
The 90 Terex Trucks recently dispatched by Comedat are working 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Some of the dump trucks are being used to haul overburden removal, while others are being driven 56m below the surface to carry phosphate.
“We’ve been with Terex Trucks for years, and we’re still as happy as we were with the trucks on the day we first became customers,” Dababneh noted. “The trucks are simple, reliable, and durable. It’s a tough running vehicle, so it’s very forgiving and works with very basic maintenance.
“I have colleagues who run other brands, and from what I know, if failures occur in their trucks, it’s serious. But if a failure occurs in Terex Trucks’ haulers, it’s a quick fix,” Comedat’s CEO concluded.
