Kuwait-based Integrated Logistics Company (ILC) has recently expanded its crane fleet with the acquisition of 20 GMK4100L-2 cranes in 2023, positioning itself as the foremost owner of this model within the Middle East.

This significant procurement has been complemented by the addition of ten GMK6300L-1 cranes and the introduction of the GMK5250XL-1, marking a strategic enhancement of ILC’s crane capabilities. These newly acquired cranes are earmarked for deployment across ILC’s branches in Kuwait and Qatar, fortifying the company’s operational capacity within the region. With this comprehensive procurement, ILC emerges as the preeminent purchaser of Grove cranes in the Middle East for the year 2023, boasting an extensive fleet comprising 79 Grove units.

In elucidating the rationale behind this substantial investment, Saleh Al Huwaidi, the CEO of ILC, underscored the enduring partnership with Manitowoc, the parent company of Grove, and extolled the exceptional build quality synonymous with Grove cranes. Al Huwaidi articulated the virtues of Grove cranes, citing their robustness, reliability, and durability, which have translated into tangible operational efficiencies and reduced maintenance costs for ILC. He further emphasized the unwavering support provided by Manitowoc, accentuating the promptness and efficacy of their service delivery.

Versatile asset for ILC

The GMK4100L-2 crane emerges as a versatile asset, ideally suited for deployment across diverse operational contexts, ranging from oil and gas refineries to major construction projects. Its compact dimensions, with an overall length of 13.21 metres and width of 2.55 metres, render it well-equipped for manoeuvring within confined spaces, a prerequisite for refinery operations. Additionally, its 8x6x8 axle configuration enhances operational flexibility, facilitating seamless navigation and manoeuvrability across varied terrains.

Meanwhile, the GMK6300L-1 crane, boasting a substantial lifting capacity of 300 tonnes and equipped with an extended seven-section MEGAFORM boom, emerges as an indispensable asset for tasks necessitating elevated reach and heavy lifting capabilities. With a reach extending up to 120 metres, facilitated by a hydraulically adjustable 37-metre fly jib, the GMK6300L-1 is ideally suited for construction endeavours demanding superior reach and lifting prowess.

Furthermore, the GMK5250XL-1 heralds a new era of innovation within its class, pushing the boundaries of crane technology with its formidable features. With a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tonnes and a boom length of 78.5 metres, it offers unparalleled lifting capabilities within its category. Moreover, its fuel-efficient design, incorporating fuel saver technology, underscores its eco-friendly credentials, aligning with contemporary sustainability imperatives.
