Saudi Arabian crane hire specialist ACT Crane Hire, which has equipment fleets at Yanbu on the Red Sea coast and at Jubail, on the Arabian Gulf, has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1090-4.1 mobile crane to join its Yanbu depot.
The crane, supplied by Saudi Liebherr Company Ltd, is a 90-tonne lift model at 2.5 m radius. The maximum lift height for this four-axle machine is 76 m, and the maximum radius is 62 m.
ACT Crane Hire is a division of Arabian Consolidated Trading Est Group, headquartered at Jubail and with branch offices in Dubai, Riyadh, Dammam and Yanbu. In addition to the rental of cranes and other heavy equipment, the group is involved in construction and road works, pallet manufacture, medical equipment, and general trading.
The company’s operations manager at Yanbu, Abdul Majeed, says that ACT has a large fleet of 35 cranes of various capacities ranging from 25 tonnes to 500 tonnes, and that the fleet is being enhanced this year by the addition of seven new cranes.
One of these is the Liebherr LTM 1090-4.1, which Mr Majeed says fits very neatly into the hire company’s mid-range line-up, and will be deployed on industrial, commercial and residential projects both in the fast developing area of Yanbu and further afield along the Red Sea coast, where many major projects are being built by Saudi government and private organisations.
“We have many other Liebherr cranes in our fleet, and have always appreciated the quality of the service backup that Saudi Liebherr gives us,”? he says. “The company has a very strong country-wide service structure, and for us, who have built our reputation on excellence of service and reliability on every size of project, this is of course of fundamental importance” he said.
