EarthCam has debuted its new GigapixelCam for the first time in the Middle East at the Intermat show in Abu Dhabi.
One of the veterans of the Internat age, EarthCam was launched in 1996, and its technology allows project managers to view the progression of a project in high resolution.
According to CEO, Brian Cury, high-resolution images of project sites can reduce the requirement to visit the site frequently; be used to discuss progress with multiple participants in different locations and as a record for all work that has been carried out on a project.
At the same time, the images can be edited into a time lapse movie on completion of the project, or can be used to show progress reports to investors.
The GigapixelCam captures a large number of high-resolution images that are then stitched together into a one-gigapixel panorama.
According to Cury, EarthCam’s cameras are specially tailored to cope with Middle East conditions, including dust controls, and an automatic wiper to clean the lens, and internet connectivity.
