Volvo Construction Equipment has appointed Patrik Lundblad (46) as its senior VP for technology, to lead the development and delivery of Volvo CE’s global technology strategy – reporting to Volvo CE president Martin Weissburg as part of the executive management team – effective 1 November.
Lundblad has worked for the Volvo Group for 15 years, most recently as senior VP of Volvo Group Purchasing, but has, over his career, held a number of senior roles in the automotive industry.
He began his career as a software developer before initially joined the Volvo Group as a graduate trainee in 1994 – where he spent the next six years – ultimately became the manager of the global electrical engineering department.
After taking up senior roles with both Saab and General Motors automotive brands, Lundblad then re-joined the Volvo Group in 2007, holding senior roles in the sourcing and procurement department.
A Swedish national, Patrik holds a Master’s of Science degree in electrical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, and an MBA from the Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law.
