Deutz has revealed plans to showcase Stage V-ready engines at INTERMAT Paris 2015.
The US-headquartered engine manufacturer claims that its latest cohort of diesel units already meet the next-generation off-road emissions standards, which are expected to be rolled out from 2019.
The early compliance of its 2.9-litre to 7.8-litre cubic capacity range, Deutz contends, will give its customers “long-term planning certainty”.
“By offering proven technology and flexibility [with regards implementation], our aim is to provide our customers with the best possible product planning support, and to help them upgrade their products to meet Stage V,” commented Michael Wellenzohn, the member of Deutz AG’s board of management with responsibility for sales, service, and marketing.
“Our Stage V-ready commitment applies in equal measure to planning certainty and future-proof technology. This generates massive customer benefits,” he added.
Whilst stringent legislation does not yet apply to the Middle East, markets such as Europe and North America began stepping up emissions standards for off-road equipment and vehicles from the late 1990s.
Deutz has based its latest diesel technology on the European Commission’s Stage V proposals, published last year.
The particulate filter fitted to the manufacturer’s 2.9-litre to 7.8-litre-capacity diesel engines already meets the limits envisaged for 2019. Definitive details of Stage V requirements are anticipated during the first quarter of 2016.
Deutz will continue to produce lower-stage engines equipped to cope with the poor-quality diesel commonly found in regions like the Middle East.
