A new digital program from Saf-Holland uses augmented reality for identifying spare parts. Workshops, retailers or service partners can order parts with a few clicks through the Parts on Demand (PoD) electronic spare parts catalogue. The online directory contains all important data about the SAF-Holland range, including axle and suspension components, fifth wheels and kingpins, ball races and landing gear.
The free SAF-Holland Connect app links the supplier for commercial vehicle components with fleet operators, workshops and spare parts dealers: It scans the QR codes on axles, landing gear and fifth wheels, while also providing information about workshops and training courses, with an option to directly register for these. Users can also directly access documentation and workshop manuals through the app and search for workshops and retailers ensuring fast and comprehensive supply of spare parts.
Alexandre Charpiot, vice president sales OEM & aftermarket Europe, SAF-Holland, said: “Digitalisation is a trend which is becoming increasingly important in the commercial vehicles industry, and it can be very useful for daily tasks. Used in a targeted manner, digital methods and predictive systems increase the efficiency and safety of trucks and trailers.”
