Eicher has revealed that it will introduce a selection of its Pro series trucks to the Indian market during the course of 2014.
VE Commercial Vehicles – a joint venture between Volvo and Eicher – plans to roll out more models in the light, medium, and heavy-duty truck segments. The Indian manufacturer will launch all of the trucks in its Pro 1000 range and several models from its Pro 3000 range before the end of the calendar year.
“By the end of 2014, we would have covered all markets, and our dealerships will offer all models of the Pro 1000 series and a few models of the Pro 3000 series, which will offer 9-tonne to 14-tonne medium-duty trucks,” said Shyam Maller, senior vice-president for sales and marketing at VE Commercial Vehicles.
The wave of trucks from the Pro 1000 series were introduced during the first quarter of 2014. So far, Eicher has rolled out these models in the North, West, and South of India.
The firm sold 40,000 units and 2013, and is confident that it can match this number during 2014.
