IronPlanet has announced it is to host its first-ever sale for the West Africa region.
The three-day auction will begin 3 September 2014 and will feature an array of mining equipment. It will be conducted in conjunction with IronPlanet’s alliance partner, GraysOnline.
“This auction is a very exciting step for IronPlanet,” said Matt Bousky, vice president for mining at IronPlanet.
“The mining industry is seeing continued growth in West Africa. However, the size of mining machinery can be an issue – which is why online auctions are the ideal platform for the buying and selling of equipment for this sector,” he added.
More than 100 items of surface and mining equipment are to go under the hammer, as well as a wide range of heavy construction machinery. A number of Komatsu PC 1250 excavators and HD 785 mining trucks are expected to be among the auction’s highlights.
In preparation for the auction, customers are currently being invited to visit the yard in Ghana where the equipment is being stored. Those who attend will have the opportunity to speak with experts from IronPlanet and GraysOnline in person.
“This auction, our Ghanaian open day, and our first-ever alliance with GraysOnline in this region, demonstrate our commitment to meeting the needs of this ever-changing, strategic market,” concluded Bousky.
